Job description

We are hiring a :


Head of Segment - Food
Position based ideally in Germany, France or UK


Reporting to the VP Key Accounts and Engineering, and as part of the Global KA Department you will lead our dynamic teams of Global Key Account Managers Food and Global Product Experts Food to securing the current market position as well as developing the food business on a global level in line with the company strategy and policies. Your leadership will be instrumental in developing strategic account management practices and enhancing product expertise within the Food segment. You will champion reporting excellence and foster a culture of continuous learning and development to ensure our diverse teams are the best in the industry. Your key responsibilities will include:


 


Strategic Leadership and Execution:


-        Develop and implement global sales strategies that align with the company’s objectives for the Food (food) segment


-        Drive the achievement of sales targets and expand market share through effective key account management and product positioning.


-        Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance customer engagement and solution offerings across all key accounts.


 


Team Leadership and Development:


-        Build, Lead and develop the Global Key Account Managers and Global Product Experts to develop strategic account management practices and improve product knowledge within the Food segment 


-        Promote a culture of high performance, where team development and achievements are recognized and rewarded. 


 


Sales and Reporting Excellence:


-        Ensure the delivery of accurate and timely reporting on sales performance, market trends, and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions.


-        Champion the use of CRM, Seismic and other sales tools (Power BI) to enhance sales processes and account management efficiency.


-        Monitor and analyse sales data to identify opportunities for growth and areas requiring improvement.


 


Customer Relationship Management:


-        Build & maintain strong, strategic relationships with key stakeholders across major accounts, ensuring alignment with their needs and long-term business strategies.


-        Understand and influence the decision-making process in each account.


-        Lead negotiations and strategic discussions with key accounts, setting the standard for excellence in customer interactions.


 


Market Analysis and Strategic Insight:


-        Conduct thorough market analysis to understand emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning within the Food segment.


-        Translate insights into actionable strategies that drive differentiation and competitive advantage.


 

Profile

We seek a candidate with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field, and several years of professional experience at a multinational sales position, preferably within the food industry. 


The ideal candidate will have a proven experience in leading and building successful teams. A Strong understanding of global market dynamics and the ability to adapt strategies to divers markets, and advanced skills in sales forecasting, market analysis, and financial reporting. Fluency in English is required, with an additional language being advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. 


The candidate should have a Problem-solving mindset with a strong analytical approach to business challenges as well as commitment to maintaining transparency in all communications and operations. Applicants should have in mind this role requires frequent travels (30-50%).
